My mom’s E39 was Takata’d earlier this year. Not much to it. she got the letter, called the dealership, made an appointment, they switched the airbag and svended the car for free. There are worse things.

Do you mind me asking where you are?

I’m in southern Ontario, and BMW of Canada still hasn’t said that the E39 is getting a recall for that.

Bit slow getting the letter to you. We got the letter for my Mom’s old 2010 Legacy 3.6r a year ago.

Yeah, I noticed. I made an appointment with the dealer for basic maintenance and even they said they’d just received the letter for it.

The thing that gets me is the estimated time for replacement parts...December.

I’m going to the dealer tomorrow for some maintenance and they said they barely even know about it. We’ll see.

I’m German, but my mom lives in Switzerland and has Swiss plates on her car, so she got the letter from the Swiss DMV equivalent.

My Legacy was Takata’d a year ago. Though I didn’t get around to getting it dealt with till recently. They did the brake line recall and PCM update as well. Also, while updating, they fried my PCM and had to get me a new one.

I have an ‘09, and I’m in a “Zone B” state, but still...

I kind of knew my Honda was part of the recall when I bought it (used) last July. Finally got the driver’s side inflator replaced last month when I was getting an oil change done.

It took almost a year for Honda to get replacements for my Fit. And I had to keep bugging them about it.
